One of the most common questions asked about the Explorer is: Does the Ford Explorer have 3rd row seating?

It used to mean that buying a 7-seat SUV meant giving up luxury. That’s changed in the last few years, and Ford has led the way with the Explorer, which has become the best-selling 3-row SUV in the US. Lighter, leaner, roomier, the 2020 Ford Explorer has been fully redesigned, and largely thanks to its new platform, the new Explorer drives far better and has a more pleasant interior. Ford engineers say that the rear-drive chassis brings a newfound sense of balance thanks to its improved weight distribution, and they’re right.

The front seats are spacious and comfortable and offer a good view of the road. The rear seats have a decent amount of legroom for a midsize SUV, and there’s enough room in the third row for two adults.
