2024 Edge

SUVs are perennially among the most popular vehicles in America, and Edge has the attributes to deliver the combination of comfort and functionality that owners demand. With five models, including a performance-oriented Edge ST and styling enhancements in the ST-Line model, the 2024 Edge offers a match for almost any potential buyer. Let's look at how Edge handles competitors in this thriving segment.

Bottom Line:
Edge livens up the fun-to-drive factor with a 2.0L EcoBoost I-4engine with a twin-scroll turbo charger designed to spool up the power boost when the driver needs it.

Worth Noting:
Edge comes standard equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD) , while Blazer drivers have to order optional AWD — or hope to fi nd one on a dealer's lot.

Passport uses Variable Cylinder Management to deactivate up to three of its six engine cylinders, as well as “Idle-Stop” technology during specific driving conditions to save fuel.

The standard Edge 2.0L I-4 EcoBoost engine uses advanced EcoBoost turbocharging technology to help provide the best of both worlds — the power and efficiency outlined previously — without the need to deactivate cylinders. Edge matches Passport by providing Auto Start-Stop Technology and goes a step further than the Honda SUV with standard Active Grille Shutters, which close at certain times to help channel air flow around the vehicle. This strategy helps Ford off er the 2.7L EcoBoost V6engine in Edge ST, producing outstanding horsepower and torque, while offering the same EPA-estimated combined mpg rating — 21 mpg — as the Passport V6.
